Remembering Nigel Cotgrove
The BT Pension Scheme Trustee Board is saddened to announce that Trustee Director Nigel Cotgrove has passed away.

He was a National Officer of the Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) for 31 years until July 2020. In that role, he was the national lead for occupational pensions across the telecoms, IT and financial services sectors for two decades, including negotiating with BT on all pension issues.
Previously, Nigel was a member of the Members’ Panel at the National Governance Committee and was a Trustee of the CWU 2000 Pension Scheme. He also served on the Low Pay Commission, the Central Arbitration Committee and the Prison Service Pay Review Body. He was also a member of the CWU and the National Federation of Occupational Pensioners.
Jill Mackenzie, Chair of the BTPS Trustee Board, said: “We are deeply saddened by Nigel’s passing. He cared passionately about representing members’ interests and was greatly respected by everyone who worked with him. His contribution to the Scheme and its members was exceptional. On behalf of the Trustee Board, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Nigel’s family, friends and former colleagues.”
